The 3rd Meet up "About Philippines"
The 3rd tea ceremony "Meet up" was held at our office from 17:00 on Oct. 28. The theme is about Philippines, and 8 people participated include with 3 Filipinos, including Maria Carmelita, Doctor of Engineering at the Institute of Industrial Science, the University of Tokyo. Wakamatsu, who was stationed in Manila as a correspondent in the 1980s, met a wife, Carmen Agnes, from the Philippines and now they are living in Japan. Mr and Mrs Wakamatsu participated in a tea ceremony and brought in cookies made from arrowroot. In addition, the SAPA staff who traveled to the Philippines on summer vacation gathered posters about Philippine food culture and unique transportation (tricycle, jeepney), etc., and talked about Philippine society and living conditions.
